In July 2019, me and my boyfriend went to Paris in France, to feel the romantic vibe of the city
Things you need to think about
- we were worried about the things that has been happening in the city lately, it was scary not gonna lie to you.
- thiefs – someone who is willing to steal your things right away – that was something I was worried about so im telling you keep your (some of your money) in the hotel safe, and also your passport.
- illegal people on the street selling you flowers, pictures, making you bracelet, want you to sign a petition (just DONT its a scam so be aware)
But after this I started planning our trip to Paris because we said if Not now? then when? I was in Paris 7 years ago with parents so I knew some of the Paris streets, subway, sights, restaurants and more.
HOTEL
We stayed in IBIS hotel Place d’italie, which cost two of us (one room), for 5 days/4 nights about I think 10,000 CZK which is about 350 euros. We were traveling by the subway most of the times or train. The city centre was about 2O minutes ride by metro. We saw Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Champ Elysees street, Arc de Triomph, Rue crémieux street
FLIGHT
Our flights were much cheaper we paid about 6,000 CZK which is about 250 euros, for both of us, both ways. We were flying from PRAGUE to PARIS straight, with a Vueling airline (DONT) – something I would like to reccomend is to check your airline and maybe find some informations about it. We did not and we regret that, our flight from Prague to Paris was delayed (for an hour) that was okay but the other way from Paris to Prague we stayed in a plane for about 4 hours, then we took off. (story time soon)
We only had our small suitcases, so they went with us into the plane. So what should you bring? THE WEATHER
We checked our weather for the week that we went to the city, the first one was a little bit chilly day and it was raining so I packed something for the rain (sweather, hoodie, long sleeve shirt), and also pants (jeans, pants, leggings). Also u can bring with you for this type of weather a jacket or leather jacket. Other days were warm about 3O degrees so we were kinda lucky, I packed dresses, shorts, shirts, tops, skirts, and open shoes like sandals. So did my boyfriend. (more about what you should pack, next time)
Our first day we went to see Notre Dame which was closed (after the fire so we could not get in), we took some pictures and chilled a little in front of the cathedral. Then we walked to LOUVRE – museum of Paris (where Mona Lisa from Leonardo Da Vinci is) we did not go inside because I was there 7 years ago and saw Mona Lisa and other paintings, and my boyfriend Daniel didn’t mind not going. I hope. So we saw the outside, went into the park, chatted a little bit and took some pics which are bad because it was so cold that day. We then went to the RUE CRÉMIEUX street and if you don’t know about it yet, its a insta famous street (but please be quiet there, you know someone lives there and we were trying to be not so typical tourist) and only took some pictures and went somewhere else. After a lot of searching we found a perfect restaurant happens to be Italian (lol), ordered spaghetti bolognese, and we had enough we were practically walking all day and it was so cold and started raining, ended up in our hotel room sleeping and watching a movie.
Second day was finally the warm weather I came for, Eiffel tower was on our list that day so we went to see the tower, but It was kinda crowded so we decided to came the next day early in the morning. But we took also some pictures in front of the Eiffel Tower, went to Arc de Triomph and went up on it. I will say and prefer to book your tickets a day before or more. We saw the line and were shook, but we managed to buy them online. SKIP THE LINE PART. The view was amazing.
Third day was all about that Eiffel Tower because we stayed in the line for about an hour and we were lucky. We bought the ticket to the top (summit), crushed there for a little bit. Made it to Champs Elysees street and went shopping (but not really), I saw that they have this famous coffee shop there LADUREE (who also made macaroons for the first time). and we could not forget to get to the Eiffel Tower the next day at night.
It was soo romantic but the last days we were just walking around the city and also slept a lot because we got the flu, probably from the air-condition.
At the end I did wanted to stay In Paris. I can’t tell you how much it makes me happy to be somewhere with Daniel, to be alone and enjoy every moment together. Im so glad that we managed to see Paris together and that we can travel to other cities as well.
I WANT TO TRAVEL THE WORLD WITH YOU SOMEDAY
